414 Productions

From their "Declaration of Unity" over at 414 Productions' MySpace:

"Originally the brainchild of Jon Brown (Emily’s Gone Mad) and Jimmy Gauge (Bombs Over Berlin), Emily’s Gone Mad, Bombs Over Berlin, Gastromachine, and Guild now lead the charge. These bands are pioneers in a new musical direction – one more creative and emotional than the mainstream. United under a new breed of dark music and ideas, 414 Productions creates an environment in which bands can flourish. Through cooperation and hard work, 414 Productions puts together shows and gets bands onto national touring acts like M.S.I. What you give is what you get with 414 Productions, and 414 offers something very special to music fans and music makers – unity, independence, and an embracement of creative thinking and the rare."

414 Productions got tired of the way things are done around here and decided to take things into their own hands. Jimmie Gauge of Bombs Over Berlin described for me more about what they're doing:

"The dark scene was suffering(goth/industrial/synth-pop/etc) at the clubs, so we decided to team up and put on these shows to have more CONTROL over our SHOWS. These genres have a lot of art and theatre involved in the artists' performance, and the venues just wanted a kind of assembly line of bands setting up, playing, then getting the fuck out of the way for the next act. It was all about quantity, and there was little room for a real SHOW at a local level. We solved that by D.I.Y., and the numbers are through the roof. The kids are catching on. Now, as of September, we are booking ALL genres of rock, we have FIVE nights a month (we now book at ATOMIX on Thursday nights and Club Sole one Sunday a month for high capacity shows). We are getting into radio spots, and make at least 5000 full color glossy card stock flyers per show. We have a street team that used to work for bands like Stabbing Westward and Disturbed, and are building a team in Corpus Christi."

They have a show over at Ampus Rehearsal Studios this weekend (Friday August 26th) with Bombs Over Berlin, Moments in Tragedy and Kevin Goes 2 College. Doors open at 9:00, cover is $6, beverages are free and all ages are welcome!
