For the first time in Coachella's 7 year history, we are going to pick 1 BAND/ARTIST and 1 DJ to perform at Coachella through a contest. Year round we are bombarded with demos, emails, e-cards, calls, and just about everything you can imagine from artists who want to play Coachella. Because of the over abundance of great talent from all over the world, too many artists (signed and unsigned) never get the chance to play our festival.
The contest will be based on the following criteria:
1. Your artistic talent/song quality
2. Votes from your friends
3. The opinions of the Coachella staff
What does the above mean? We will be very picky about who we let play! We pride ourselves on the quality of artists that perform at Coachella each year. We will ultimately make our decision based on votes, talent, creativity, and your determination to win! The more votes you have, the better chance you have to perform in 2006.
The winner will be announced when we go public with the entire line up. You WILL NOT be billed as the "myspace contest winner". You will be picked because your good and deserve to play, not just because you won a contest. You will be in the ads just like any other artist who plays the show. We will contact the winning artists 2 weeks prior the line up announcement to confirm all the details of the show.
