Green Day and Jimmy Eat World

I went to the Jimmy Eat World/Green Day show last night and oh my god, it fucking rocked. I have a friend Mike who's life long aspiration is or should I say was to play with Green Day and last night he got his wish. He's been to like 6 Green Day shows but when they call for audience participation he's always had bad luck until last night. He made a sign that said "I can play guitar, I promise." First Billie Joe picked some sixteen year old kid with a 2 foot Mo-hawk, but he sucked so he got booed off. Then he seen Mike's sign and pulled him up. Mike gave him a huge hug and Billie Joe kissed him right on the lips. It was hilarious. So Billie Joe proceeded to show him the song but to no avail as Mike had been practicing it for years for just such an occasion. The other participants, the drummer and bass player were all stiff and boring, but Mike fucking rocked the house. He was running all over the stage jamming out, and he didn't miss a note. He went down the audience platform and jammed, and for the finale he jumped off the drum platform with the final chord. Oh my god it was fucking incredible. Billie Joe even gave him the guitar. I'm so proud of my boy Mike and his rockin' ass. Anyone else who was there needs to give it up for him. The whole show was incredible, the lights and the pyro and everything, it was just awesome. I don't know any other way to describe it. Just awesome.
