Guy Forsyth's fifth and most prolific release entitled Love Songs: For and Against, produced by Mark Addison, is what Forsyth describes as a "culmination of a lot of different journeys: as a bandleader, as a songwriter, and as a traveler and observer." "Love Songs" will be released on Forsyth's own Small and Nimble Records with national distribution by Bayside and available at fine retail outlets nationwide August 23.
The 13 choice cuts on Forsyth's latest album are as diverse in style as they are in mood, with Forsyth’s insights on love, fear, the perils of unchecked consumerism, war, the government, spirituality, and the apocalypse shot through his typically eclectic prism of pop, blues, folk, jazz, reggae, funk and rock ’n’ roll. Love Songs first song and single, “Long Long Time,” is an attention-grabbing blues rant with a sing-along chorus as powerful as the song’s message. As the album continues with the liquid reggae groove of “Brand New Day,” and the immensely catchy “So Hard,” coupled with the haunting Armageddon lament “When It All Comes Down” and the ear-to-ear, ragtime grin of the album-closing “Shake It In a Circular Motion,” Forsyth makes a solid case for himself as an invaluable, spirit-lifting musical companion.
On August 13, Forsyth will attend the Radio and Records AAA National Summit in Boulder Colorado to endorse the growing success of "Long Long Time," currently in heavy rotation on KGSR radio Austin. The early buzz of "Long Long Time" has also prompted its inclusion in a recent Dell Promotional Program where the song was hand selected by Dell, licensed by yahoo, and pre-loaded on every personal computer and Dell DJ to be marketed through Dec 2006, totaling an impressive 11 million placements into the Dell Jukebox program.
Immediately following release of his new album, Guy will hit the road and kick start his Spread the Love … campaign with an extensive statewide tour, and than take on Europe with a month long festival tour where Rounder Records Europe will release Love Songs: For and Against.
