"Former San Antonio filmmaker Jim Mendiola...is working on a pilot for Sà TV called Jammin’, a music show that combines slice-of-life cinema verité with performance footage. For the pilot episode of Jammin’, Mendiola chose to focus on local favorites Girl in a Coma. He’ll take his cameras to the band’s Friday, January 20 show at Sam’s Burger Joint (330 E. Grayson), with a bill that also features the Snags, Doom to Bloom, the Offbeats, and Big Soy. Doors open at 8 p.m. and cover is $5.
The following week, Mendiola will catch Girl in a Coma in the act at New York’s Knitting Factory, for what promises to be a highly intriguing set.
