Barrio Massive 5
On Saturday, May 6 th, local musical activists, Bombasta, will host Barrio Massive 5 at Sam's Burger Joint. This will be the fifth event in the successful Barrio Massive series, which was recently acknowledged as "Best Super Group" in the Current's "Best of San Antonio" poll. This event will be a Cinco de Mayo celebration for a community that has been blossoming into a political force on the heals of recent developments regarding Immigrant Rights issues. Bombasta will be joined on stage by local ethno-fusionists Jai, Azul & Maya in a continuation of the original theme of Barrio Massive- collaboration, culture, community and activism.
As an added bonus for the Cinco de Mayo themed night, the Teokalli Traditional Aztec Dancers will begin the night with performances of their unique and cultural dance. Also participating in the night's events will be poets, DJ's and other guest performers, as well as local political activists and vendors. Both bands are scheduled to rotate on and off the stage, collaborating on each other's music, all night long. Contact Roberto Livar at 210.844.8043 for more information.
