Well, in spite of all obstacles, I have been trying to at least keep the site going, even though I haven't had time to do anything, which has bugged the hell out of me.
But...well, you may remember a while back when I was afraid I was going to be shut down whether I liked it or not, because my credit card bill was over the limit. Well, since then, it has been over the limit every month due to the monthly charges for SA Rocks. We have been trying very hard to get it back down, but we can only afford to pay so much per month. So, every month, the charges have brought it back over the limit and they have charged me a $39 fee each month. So the site has been costing me $39 extra per month and we just can't get it back down. We can't afford to pay $60 a month for the site.
Also, the domain name that my account is under is also up for renewal on the 24th and I don't have the money for that. Plus the sarocks.com domain name will be up for renewal soon, and I don't have the money for that, either. So, I really have no choice but to shut it down.
When I explained my financial situation before, several people wrote me and offered to help out to keep it open, but no one actually DID help out, so now I'm afraid I'm screwed. Not to be bitchy, but everyone wants me to keep it going, but no one actually wants to help out. With the exception of Kelly...if it wasn't for her hard work, the site would have been defunct months ago.
Anyway, I will have to cancel my account within the next few days. I can keep the blog open if you guys want. Evidently, I can't find the time nowadays to post anything here, but if Kel and the other members want to keep it going, we can do that. You guys let me know if you want to or not. If not, I'll shut it down, too. As for the forum, right now I pay to keep it free from pop-up ads, but I can't afford to do that anymore. If you guys find it useful, I can keep it open, but there will be pop-up ads. If those don't bother you, we can do it that way. Again, let me know what you want.
I have had a blast doing this site, and hopefully someday, when my family and financial obligations change, I can do something like this again. I have heard SO much good music and met so many cool people doing this!! It has really been awesome!
BTW, when I shut this down, I will probably shut down my current email accounts as well, just because I am subscribed to so many mailing lists that the email load is ridiculous. But anyone who actually wants to email me as a friend can probably find me through Kel...I'll be giving her my new email addy.
I'll miss doing this, but I'm sure I'll be seeing you guys around. I'm still a music lover, and as soon as I recover from Christmas, I'll be back out there enjoying the music!! Love you guys...
