Step Aside @ Caliente Harley-Davidson

Jason Zimmerman / EZ Street

GETTING DOWN WITH THE BLUES!

What could be better than Blues and Bikes on a Sunday afternoon?

I saw that Step Aside was playing at Caliente Harley-Davidson so I thought I would check it out.

I have seen them advertised on SA Rocks before but never got a chance to see them until now. I've had the honor of jamming with Clarence Castillo (lead vocals & lead guitar) so I thought it would be cool to see them with the new bass player, Louis Garza and Paul Allen, the new drummer.

When I got there the boys were already in full swing jamming some gritty Texas blues bringing back memories of old blues greats like Jimmy Reed and Freddy King. The boys were on today as they wrapped up the first set and came and talked to the people in the crowd.

If you have never been to Caliente Harley-Davidson it's a great venue to see bands and it seems to really suit Step Aside as they had people mesmerized with their down home Texas blues.

Some of the highlights of the show were “Rock Hand”, “Monday Morning Blues” and for a moment I could've sworn Albert King was in the building!

A great time was had by all; free pizza, cheap soda, nice bikes and plenty of hot Blues from a great bunch of guys.

Check out Step Aside on their MySpace page to see their upcoming gigs.
