Education

These are heartbroken local Texas boys who spew lament with buzzsaw guitars and raw ballads that define the very beginnings of staggering rock ’n’ roll. - SA Current

Milktooth (Nashville)
This will be Milktooth's second appearance at the Limelight.
www.facebook.com/milktoothmusic

"A 'milk tooth' is another name for a baby tooth, or the first tooth a child grows before his or her permanent teeth come in. It's also the name of a band from Nashville that's put out one of the more mesmerizing CDs I've heard in recent months. Milktooth's self-titled debut dabbles in a bit of everything, from noise-rock to glittering indie-pop and gentle folk, all in the span of about 25 minutes. If a single tone or theme ties the songs together, it's a surreal kind of creaky Americana, with spare acoustic instruments and sometimes haunting atmospherics, led by the howling voice of frontman David Condos."
-NPR ALL SONGS CONSIDERED

Wild Party
Wild Party could easily be the love child of The Killers and The Strokes. However, upon closer listen, sounds like the band have taken the best parts of the sixties, seventies and eighties, put them in a blender, then shook with a few shots of vodka. Imagine The Rolling Stones, The Talking Heads and Flock of Seagulls got locked into a studio for a week with nothing but their instruments, a disco ball and a healthy supply of grain alcoho

THE CURRENT

Published: August 24, 2011

Aperture are playing their first headlining show at Jack’s Bar this Saturday. This isn’t necessarily the best situation to be in. The band’s bright-eyed singer/co-songwriter Nathan Alvarado, who recently shaved off his rock locks (and what looks like eight years), told the Current over a glass of vino at Josephine St. CafĂ© that “No one wants to play last” and that he finds the experience “nerve-wracking.”
