Lee MacDougall at Joe Blue's, Thursday Aug. 25th

Courtesy of The San Antonio Express News:

"It’s no easy feat to make sad-sack songs sound poppy and peppy, but this British rocker-turned-troubadour has the uncanny knack to do just that. Born and raised in Grimsby, on the east coast of England, MacDougall logged the hours necessary to hone his singing, songwriting and guitar chops so he wouldn’t have to work in a fish-processing planet. The result is catchy tunes about heartbreak, longing and weird self-image. But when MacDougall wraps songs from his “If Walls Could Talk” disc such as “Falling in Love for the Last Time,” “I Don’t Believe You, Alison” and the creepily magnetic “How to Be” in hook-filled melodies, the sad sack in all of us wins."
