Manuel Castillo: The Painting of a Community. Thurs, March 31st
Join us for the opening of our newest exhibition at the Museo Alameda, "Manuel Castillo: The Painting of a Community." The exhibition will pay tribute to the late visionary and founder of San Anto Cultural Arts and its Westside Mural Project. It will also bring together past and present muralists who have, since 1996, used their talents to beautify and brighten the Westside. The exhibition will offer a window into the life of Manuel Castillo, the bonds he shared with each of the San Anto muralists, and the impact he made on our San Antonio community. Opening Reception: Thursday March 31, 2011 from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Performances by Glorium, Snowbyrd, Sexto Sol and DJ JJ Lopez. The event is free and open to the public.
Backbeat Magazine Presents STUDIO 1400 Music Mixer, Thurs. March 31st at The Korova, 6-10pm
This Thursday evening from 6pm til' 10pm, we invite you to come hang out with fellow musicians and also speak with Studio 1400 reps about their services which range from recording, mastering, epk kits, social media management, videography and more.
They'll also be offering all bands and musicians who attend a special coupon to track and master one song for just $99 to see what they have to offer. This is a great way to get into a... quality studio and knock out that submission you need for SXSW 2012, NXNE, CMJ or any other event that requires a top of the line sample of your music.
They will also tell you about some of their online marketing packages, discount merchandise opportunities with Industry Screeprinting and how they can package all this into a monthly fee.
Regardless if you choose to work with Studio 1400, this is great opportunity to network with fellow bands, local promoters and venue reps who are being invited to the event to make this a true Music Mixer!
All Ages are welcome and those who can drink, $1 Well Drinks are being offered at the bar all night in addition to $2 Lone Star and Tecate Tallboys!
