"Serigraph Killer" at Nightrocker Live, Friday March 2nd

“Serigraph Killer” art exhibit featuring Carlos Hernandez at Nightrocker Live. No worries — rockers Bald Eagle Burger, Sight for Sore Eyes and Loaded are providing the soundtrack for this one-night-only event that presents works by Houston artist Carlos Hernandez. The acclaimed serigraphy artist has created posters for artists such at The Kills, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings of Leon and Santana. Artwork will be on sale, including his hilarious Day of the Dead Rock Stars series. Hernandez is a co-founder of Burning Bones Press, a Houston printmaking studio. He’s also designing a look for a new beer, Santo, for the Saint Arnold Brewing Company.
"Serigraph Killer" show, a one-night only event featuring the work of Houston artist Carlos Hernandez. A serigraphy artist, Hernandez has designed and printed gig posters for such artists at The Kills, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings of Leon, Santana, and more. The show will include gig posters available for purchase, as well as art prints from Hernandez's 2011 Day of the Dead Rock Stars show including El Hank Williams, El Townes Van Zandt, and more. Providing music for the evening is Houston punk band Bald Eagle Burger.

BIO
Serigraphy artist Carlos Hernandez has designed and printed gig posters for such artists The Kills, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings of Leon, Santana, BB King and more. His work has been recently featured in the 2011 Communication Arts Typography annual and the 2011 Communication Arts Illustration annual and is recently published in the 2012 book Mexican Graphics by Korero Books-UK. Carlos is a founding partner of Burning Bones Press, a Houston printmaking studio.

In addition to his screen printing work, Carlos is also known for his Day of the Dead Rock Stars series. Recently, the Saint Arnold Brewing Company commissioned Carlos to create the Day of the Dead inspired artwork and packaging for their new black Kölsch beer, SANTO.

After receiving a design degree from Texas Tech University, Carlos Hernandez moved to Houston, Texas from his hometown of good ol’ Lubbock, Texas (Home of Buddy Holly)
