Join Ruben V as he welcomes two outstanding percussionists: Jai Lopez and Gabe Herrera! Joining the group for the second set will be the Al Gomez and Henry Rivas from the Westside Horns. This is going to be a killer show!
Jai Lopez tours internationally with Mono Blanco and regularly sits in with a number of local acts, Jai’s mainstay is Drum Café, a South African company that tours the nation offering team-building workshops in corporate and educational settings. Jai also has his own project; Herb-n-Café. The name, he says, describes the style of music: “It’s urban roots-ragga music. Certain parts are laid back, like when you’re smokin’. Other parts are amped up like when you’re drinking café.”
At age 16, Gabe Herrera started performing with his father's conjunto band as a drumkit player. He studied the Theory of Music in college and studied the rhythms of world percussion. Through out the years, he has performed with and opened up for multiple major Jazz acts. He has recorded jingles and CD's from local to International music artists.
