2012 TMC SCHOLARSHIP & GRANT FORMS AVAILABLE
JACK SKILES MUSIC STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP
$1,000 & $500 Awards

Application forms are now available for the Texas Music Coalition's (TMC) 2012 scholarship and grant program.
The two TMC Jack Skiles Music Studies Scholarships awarded this year
will be in the amounts of $1,000 and $500 – double their previous
amounts.
Applicants must reside in South Central Texas and
currently be enrolled in classes in music or music industry related
fields at a high school (including home school), technical college,
junior college or university. You do not need to be a TMC member to
apply for these scholarships.
The scholarships continue the
legacy of noted musician and charter TMC member Jack Skiles, who
supported and nurtured the growth of the area music community for many
years following a distinguished music career spanning continents and
decades.
FRED WEISS MEMORIAL GRANT FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
2- $250 Awards
TMC members only
Two TMC Fred Weiss Memorial Music Grants For Professional Development
in the amount of $250 each will be awarded, doubling the previous number
of grants.
Grant recipients must demonstrate their ambition to
further their careers in the music industry and exhibit strong
abilities in their specific field. Only TMC members in good standing are
eligible to apply for the grants. However, new memberships are always
welcome!
Fred Weiss, a founder of TMC and the Music Business
Program in San Antonio College’s Radio/TV/Film Department, was a devoted
educator and mentor and a source of guidance and encouragement to many
in the area music industry.
Forms for both the scholarships and grants are attached and will soon be posted on the TMC website, www.texasmusiccoalition.org.
In the meantime, you may download last year's forms to send in, as
rules remain the same. Applications should be mailed to the Texas Music
Coalition P.O. Box address listed on the forms and postmarked no later
than Saturday, June 30.
Scholarship and grant winners will be
announced at the TMC Meet & Greet on Saturday, July 21, from 3 to 6
p.m. at Big Bob's Burgers, 447 West Hildebrand Ave.
