This Sat. July 7th will be an exciting yet sad day. Saluté International Bar
will be closing down at the end of July 2012. This place has been on
the strip for years, supporting and hosting real "live" music for over
20 years. From legendary San Antonio Local musicians, the younger
generation, From Art to HipHop and Poetry, and Def one of the few places
in san antonio to Host live JAZZ and Improvisational
music, Ms. Dominguez(Owner) has provided and pushed many musicians/
bands to the next level. It was on this very same strip where Juanito
Castillo and I met in the early summer days of June 2011. This of course
led to the building and start of my relationship with Ms.Dominguez. I
can honestly say that, the many gigs that BlackNote has performed at
Salute have produced some of the wildest, craziest jam sessions of this
past year and it also spawned one of the most important relationships,
and projects of the year 2012- The EP Entitled -PURPLE BLUES , a
compilation by Castillo and myself. We will be performing some of our
songs off the EP , and creating new songs on the spot. Come out and
celebrate, vibe, and take a journey one last time this Sat. Night . :)
