The Texas Music Coalition (TMC) will celebrate the 14th anniversary of its founding with a birthday party on Sunday, Sept. 30, 5-10 p.m., at Tycoon Flats, 2926 North Saint Mary's. There will be free birthday cake, balloons and music by TMC members.
The line-up for this celebratory event will include: Paul “Red” & Lana Dvorak; Tom's Texas Groove (with Tom Williams & Steve Springer); Bobby Baker & the Longnecks; Ron Young & C.J. Troilo; Doug Fesler & Friends; Katherine Dawn & the Texas LadyBugs; John Cockerell and more to be announced.
Councilman Rey Saldana will present the October Texas Music Month proclamation from the City of San Antonio at 5:30 p.m., and members are asked to be present at that time for a special group picture. The proclamation from the governor's office declaring October as Texas Music Month statewide will also be read. (TMC is responsible for October's Texas Music Month designation.)
If you would like to donate an item or items for the silent auction at TMC's upcoming annual end-of-October fundraiser, please consider bringing it that day as your "birthday present" to TMC -- no wrapping necessary! (But you do not need to bring a “gift” to enjoy the free fun with us that day!)
TMC members who are interested in performing at this event are asked to contact Birthday Party Chair Bobby Baker.
