Lucas Jack at Riff House Concerts, Saturday Nov. 9

"Riff House has been on a bit of a break but there are a couple great shows planned to close out Riff's fourth year. November welcomes local piano man, Lucas Jack.

Transcending roots in the tradition of piano rock greats such as Billy Joel, Jackson Brown and Paul McCartney, Lucas Jack is a singer-songwriter-pianist able to engross his audience in stories of the modern American experience. His powerful tenor voice and soul of his music envelops his listeners. “Writing and performing music liberates me in a way that nothing else can,” describes Lucas. “For years I found myself going through the motions and being carried along by the inertia of safe choices – law school, a job, perceived goals – then came the realization that no matter how my life progresses, I need to write songs. That is where my heart is.” Embracing his passion, Lucas left a career as an attorney in Chicago to become a full-time musician. In 2012, Lucas relocated to Texas to work with San Antonio's own Grammy-nominated producer, Mack Damon, with whom he recorded his first full-length album, Sun City. Lucas has played Gruene Hall and was recently featured in Alternative Root Magazine."
