Boz Boorer is a well-known name amongst Morrissey fans as he’s been playing guitar with Morrissey and acting as his music supervisor music since 1991. But Boz has a notable history on his own in the rockabilly/psychobilly scene as well. Playing guitar in one of the most popular neo-Rockabilly bands in the U.K. during the 1980s, Boz helped The Polecats crack the British charts with a string of hits that not only solidified him as a gifted musician but also proved he was a prolific songwriter as well. These days Boz still records, releases and tours behind his own style of original Rockabilly music with the help of his live band The Bozmen. The fact that San Antonio indie rock trio Girl In A Coma is playing support slots on both of Boz’s Texas gigs is particularly significant because Girl In A Coma recently wrapped up some recordings with Boz at his studio in England. As far as other support acts on the bill, look for more traditional rockabilly fare from Chadd Thomas & The Crazy Kings on Thursday night in Austin and slightly more twisted psychobilly from Sick City Daggers on Friday night in San Antonio.
