ECHALE! LATINO MUSIC ESTYLES WRAPS UP THE 2012 FALL SERIES AT PEARL PARK AMPHITHEATER, FRIDAY NOV. 2ND

PRESS RELEASE:

October 29, 2012 (SAN ANTONIO, TX) San Antonio's popular Latin music series, Echale! Latino Music Estyles, wraps up its fall 2012 series with the biggest bang of the season. Sponsored by Corona Extra and Red Bull Panamerika, the free concert series is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 2 at 7:00pm.

Take Part In The Taping of Canal 22 Music Series; With La Santa Cecilia, Andrea Balency and Charanga Cakewalk...

Launched in March 2011, Echale! has featured the musical talents of Ozomatli, Bomba Estereo, Girl in a Coma, Ana Tijoux, Brownout, Antibalas and many more.
This celebration of Latin music combines the best of Pearl and its commitment to the preservation of Latin American arts and culture that is so prevalent in the San Antonio community.

Much like it's location almost exactly between Austin and the Mexican border town of Laredo, San Antonio's Echale concert series has the best of both worlds, the cosmopolitan musical taste of one of the coolest music cities in the world and charming South Texas flavor, with none of the big city attitude, said Adrian Quesada of Grupo Fantasma and Brownout. Set in an amazing and historic outdoor "amphitheater" type setting, it appeals to just about everyone for many reasons, two of my favorite among them - it's family friendly and EARLY, and best of all, it's FREE.

The final performance allows the crowd to be part of the taping of an international television show for Canal 22. Canal 22 is a 100 percent Mexican television channel that blends music, culture, tradition and language into its programming. Canal 22 films major concerts including Festival Internacional Cervantino, the Opera Season at Palacio de Ballas Artes and special concerts in Auditorio Nacional or Teatro de la Ciudad in Mexico City. Most recently, Canal 22 recorded Michael Nyman at Plaza de la Revolucion and Lila Downs.

La Santa CeciliaCharanga Cakewalk and Andrea Balency play the final show in the Echale! fall series with a Dia de los Muertos theme. Move to the rhythm with Charanga Cakewalk, a band headed by Michael Ramos that fuses Latin and Jazz seamlessly. Dance to the pop-infused sound with Andrea Balency, who was recently awarded Mexico¹s Indie-O Music Award¹s Best New Artist. Echale! wraps the evening with a performance from La Santa Cecilia, the Los Angeles based six-member band recently nominated for a 2011 Latin GRAMMY for the track ³La Negra.² The band creatively combines up-tempo South American rhythms like Cumbia and Bossa Nova with the nostalgic Bolero and passionate Tango to bring about a mix that defies any particular music genre.

The Pearl amphitheater seats roughly 1,000 but Pearl is inviting latecomers to bring lawn chairs and blankets in case seating is scarce. Pearl is located at 200 E. Grayson St. in San Antonio, Texas.
