All throughout America in the early-mid 1960's, teens were so inspired by bands like The Beatles, that they were starting their own bands in record numbers. This explosion of rock & roll pioneerism led to many red-hot regional music/dance scenes around the country. Some of the biggest and brightest of those scenes emanated from right here in Texas. Producers Mark Nobles and Melissa Kirkendall have done a fine job of documenting the musical and cultural happenings around the Fort Worth teen scene in the award-winning film, "Teen A Go Go" (Mark also published a fine book on the subject as well).

What makes this screening so fitting, is that the Fort Worth teen scene was a mirror to what was happening in San Antonio during the same period. Although the San Antonio teen scene hasn't been quite as formally documented, the parallels are many, and the music of both was among the best and subsequently, most influential in the land.

"A true musical documentary for the rock buff, "Teen A Go Go" is a testament to the long standing popularity and influence of the Beatles and how they managed to set the stage for a slew of expressive young musicians who would aspire for great heights and learn something about themselves in the process." --Cinema Crazed

Teen A Go Go's Producer MARK NOBLES (Teen A Go Go) will be on-hand to talk about the teen scene phenomenon, and how Texas impacted the country with it's brand of teen garage-rock angst, as well as the making of the film. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and chat with Mark.

EVE And The EXILES (Eve and The Exiles) will be performing a live set of 60's rock & soul music for those in attendance, which is appropriate, as their legendary drummer, Mike Buck, spent his teen years among the Fort Worth scene, and is interviewed in the film.

A COOL FREEBIE: I recently designed the packaging for a very limited run of BUBBLE PUPPY VINTAGE COLA by Dublin Bottling Works (the famed former bottler of Dublin Dr Pepper). I will have a limited amount of these collectible Sodas at the screening to give away. These will be given out (one-per-person), to the first folks who attend the screening (only while supplies last).

MERCH NOTE: Mark Nobles will have "Teen A Go Go" DVDs, books and other items available for purchase at the event. Items can also be purchased online from Antone's Record Shop"
