Dr. Brent “Doc” Watkins, Pierre Poree, "Daddy Longlegs" Rivas and friends are throwing a party in celebration of New Orleans Jazz on Fat Tuesday.
Partygoers will be transported to NOLA with Carnival season favorites like “When the Saints Go Marching In,” “Mardi Gras Mambo,” ”Jambalaya,” “Bourbon Street Parade,” and Professor Longhair’s famous tune “Big Chief.”
The performance is the second of the 2014 South Texas Jazz residency in the Empire Theatre. The series is one of many highlights in this year’s celebration of the Empire Theatre’s 100th Anniversary. For full series details, visit: The Majestic.
MARDI GRAS! takes place in conjunction with Downtown Tuesday. Downtown Tuesday offers free parking at City-operated garages, lots and parking meters on Tuesdays from 5:00pm to 2:00am.
